Team of researchers, doctoral students, and research management and administration (RMA) staff from the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), successfully completed a study visit to Vienna within the framework of RETLAMI-SEE project.
This visit represented a key operational activity aimed at capacity building, knowledge exchange, and fostering long-term research collaboration between two partner institutions – Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET) University of Vienna, and UNIBL.
Key activities and outcomes of the visit are:
- Knowledge Transfer and Methodological Innovation:
The second day of the visit featured a workshop “Basic Qualitative Approaches in Digital Sociology – Digital Ethnography” led by Dr. Bojana Vukojević (FPN UNIBL). The workshop highlited potentials in digital research of migration and UNIBL’s growing capacity to disseminate knowledge internationally. - Gender Dimension in Research:
An online training “Integrating Gender Dimension in Research on Labour and Migration” by Dr. Jovana Mihajlović Trbovc (ZRC SAZU) enhanced participants’ understanding of gender-sensitive approaches in Horizon Europe projects and beyond. - Research Management and Funding Excellence:
RMA staff participated in sessions at the University of Vienna’s Research Services and Career Development Department, focusing on project management, funding lifecycle, and training for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and ERC grants. These activities contributed directly to building institutional capacity for managing complex EU-funded projects. - Research Progress and Innovation:
The visit also included team meetings, fieldwork planning, and discussions on AI-assisted data visualization, which will further enhance the impact and visibility of project results.
Last days in Vienna were marked by a tour of the historic main building of the University of Vienna — an inspiring experience for young researchers and doctoral students.
