D1.1 – Map of the research and RMA potentials at the Faculty of Political Sciences and UNIBL

This deliverable provides an analysis of the research and research management and administration (RMA) capacities at the Faculty of Political Sciences University of Banja Luka (FPN UNIBL) for the period 2019–2024. It explores key areas such as research organization, governance, support for early career researchers, as well as research outputs, based on self-assessment, official documents, desk research, and interviews.

D8.2 – Data management plan

This document presents the first Data Management Plan (DMP) describing the procedures for
handling the data during and after the end of RETLAMI-SEE project. The DMP provides an
overview of the purpose, format and openness of data to be collected, re-used and generated
throughout the RETLAMI-SEE lifespan. The document also provides which procedures will be
established to ensure compliance with the FAIR standards.
The present DMP will be continuously monitored and then updated in the form of D8.5 Updated
Data Management Plan towards the end of the RETLAMI-SEE duration. semper? Interdum gravida ullamcorper sagittis egestas consequat mus.

D8.3 – Ethical procedures framework

This document presents an overview of ethical considerations, procedures and measures to be
undertaken for RETLAMI-SEE activities. It provides detailed information on the informed consent
procedures. It also describes the measures pertaining to the transfer of data from the EU to a
non-EU country (in this case Bosnia and Herzegovina) and vice versa in accordance with the
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

D2.1 – Report from the trainings and workshops organized

This document provides a detailed insight into the trainings and workshops organized in the framework of the RETLAMI-SEE project in the first phase of project implementation (M5-M17). Trainings and workshops are organized both online and on-site and are envisioned as peer learning and knowledge sharing events between researchers of the RETLAMI-SEE project partners. These events comprise basic trainings as well as advanced workshops and are divided into two clusters: a) Research excellence enhancing events: workshops and trainings oriented towards thematic, methodological and epistemological subjects relevant to transformation, labour and migration studies. These events aim to enhance knowledge and provide tools for successful execution of the exploratory research project conducted within RETLAMI-SEE, and are important elements in the process of establishing of the Research Group on Transformations, Labour and Migration in SEE at FPN UNIBL b) Capacity building events: workshops and trainings aiming at enhancing research skills and solidifying careers of ESRs. These events are designed to provide ESRs with tools and skills related to project application and proposal writing, publications, project execution, etc.

D2.2 – Report from the study visits

This document provides a detailed insight into the study visits of the researchers of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Banja Luka (FPN UNIBL) to the consortium partner institutions University of Vienna (UNIVIE), Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) and Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) organized within the Work Package 2 (WP2). Study visits are designed to ensure in-person knowledge exchange with more experienced colleagues regarding the various approaches, theoretical frameworks, methods and techniques employed in researching transformations, labour and migration. In parallel, UNIBL researchers took this opportunity to showcase and reflect on the methodological and theoretical approaches they use in their research on these topics.

D2.3 – Manual: Best practices and weaknesses in project cycle management for Horizon Europe projects

This Deliverable is based on study visits by UNIBL's research support staff to leading research support offices (RSOs) at UNIVIE, ZRC SAZU and IOS. Its primary purpose is to significantly enhance effective Horizon Europe project cycle management, from proposal development to project implementation, by integrating best practices and addressing identified weaknesses. The Manual provides a comprehensive guide for anyone seeking to establish, optimize, or enhance a research project office as a research support function, offering especially valuable guidance for research institutions in Widening countries looking to strengthen their participation in Horizon Europe. In the first section exploring RMA roles, the manual defines the professional skill sets, from budget auditing to conflict resolution, required to support researchers throughout the project lifecycle. The next section comparing institutional models examines the developing support structures at the University of Banja Luka alongside the established systems used by RETLAMI-SEE partner institutions. Following the structural overview, the text shifts to a step-by-step guide for managing proposals and implementations offering concrete strategies for consortium building and financial management. Finally, the section on capacity building offers targeted recommendations to overcome understaffing through mentorship and engagement with pan-European networks like EARMA.

D8.5 – Updated data management plan

This document presents the updated Data Management Plan (DMP) which was developed as D8.2 (month 6). The updated DMP describes the procedures for handling the data during and after the end of the RETLAMI-SEE project. The DMP provides an overview of the purpose, format and openness of data to be collected, re-used and generated throughout the RETLAMI-SEE lifespan. The document also outlines which procedures will be established to ensure compliance with the FAIR standards. The DMP is a living document and is continuously monitored throughout the RETLAMI-SEE duration.
