A Research Management & Administration (RMA) delegation from University of Banja Luka (UNIBL)—Milica Marić (Project Manager) and Dr Nataša Čereković (Associate), both from the Centre for Development and Research Support; Dr Dragan Dragomirović (Head of the Faculty of Philosophy Library); and Tamara Nježić (Officer for 2nd & 3rd-cycle studies at Faculty of Political Sciences UNIBL, aspiring RMA)—carried out a three-day study visit to the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS Regensburg) within the RETLAMI-SEE project.
The programme that started on 24 November, connected strategy and practice across the pre-award → post-award cycle. Sessions addressed how research services are organised and coordinated; how third-party funding is scouted and stewarded from idea to reporting; and how library infrastructures and services support discovery, data, and impact.
Building on this foundation, the team worked through operational components that ensure quality and compliance in funded projects: event management and public outreach, controlling and financial stewardship, Open Science & Open Access requirements, and research data management aligned with FAIR principles. A clear throughline connected visibility, robust processes, and data-centric workflows, translating into actionable improvements for UNIBL.
Outcomes & next steps
The result of the visit is a standardized vocabulary and a clearer common framework for cooperation: concrete follow-ups for joint proposals and smoother collaboration with IOS. The teams agreed to continue the exchange through document sharing, shadowing opportunities, and targeted micro-trainings.
