The RETLAMI-SEE project invites researchers to the online workshop “Practical Tips for Open Science and Research Data Management”, taking place on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, from 12:15 to 13:45. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Publishing open access and designing a research data management plan have become integral to research funding applications. The RETLAMI-SEE project offers hands-on training to help you with any questions you may have!

Led by Sascha Ritter and Matthias Nowak of the Open Science Office at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg, this 90-minute training session is aimed at researchers in the humanities and social sciences at doctoral and postdoctoral level.

After a brief introduction to the key aspects of open science and research data management, the trainers will provide practical advice on the real-life challenges researchers face when publishing open access and managing research data. Examples could include data protection measures when planning, storing, and working with interviews and surveys; choosing a suitable research data repository or Open Access platform; and more.

As the trainers will prepare their input according to participants’ needs, we kindly ask participants to formulate one to three concrete challenges they are facing with regard to open science and research data management in their research.

Interested researchers should complete the registration form here.

Deadline for registration: October, 8th 2026.
